日米の教育交流　三輪田にウィスコンシン大学の教員志望の学生の皆さんが来校しました！

2025年6月23日（月）、アメリカ・ウィスコンシン大学ラクロス校より、教授および教員志望の大学生、総勢14名の皆さまが三輪田学園を訪問されました。
今回の訪問は、アメリカ人学生を対象とした日本での研修をコーディネートされている方から、「日本の学校現場の見学をプログラムに組み込みたい」とのご相談をいただき、実現したものです。

当日は、まず本校高校1年生による「Global Competence Program」の授業を見学していただきました。担当の先生から生徒たちに出されたタスクは、見学に来た学生の方々に英語で質問をする「Small Talk Interview」。実際に英語を使ってコミュニケーションを取る絶好のチャンスとあって、生徒たちも意欲的に取り組んでいました。
授業見学後は、校内見学ツアーを実施。高校2・3年生の生徒たちが英語でガイドを務め、アメリカの学生1名に対して1～2名の三輪田生がつき添いながら、講堂、談話室、English Lounge、温水プール、虚心亭などを案内しました。
希望する方には、中学2年生による水墨画の授業や、中学3年生の武道の授業もご見学いただきました。
また、昼休みには中学1年生の教室で昼食の様子をご覧いただき、その後、高校3年生による清掃活動の様子も見学されました。
アメリカでは生徒が学校を清掃する文化がないため、皆さま非常に興味深く観察されていたのが印象的でした。
短い時間ではありましたが、温かな異文化交流が生まれ、互いにとって学びの多いひとときとなりました。
ウィスコンシン大学の皆さまには、三輪田学園でのスクールツアーを楽しんでいただけたようです。

Japan–U.S. Educational Exchange: Future Educators from the University of Wisconsin Visit Miwada Gakuen!

On Monday, June 23, 2025, a group of 14 visitors—including professors and education-major university students—from the University of Wisconsin–La Crosse visited Miwada Gakuen.
This visit was made possible through a request from the coordinator of a Japan-based training program for American university students, who expressed a strong interest in including a visit to a Japanese school as part of their program.
The day began with an observation of our high school first-year "Global Competence Program" class.
In this class, students were assigned a task by their teacher, Jono-sensei : to conduct “Small Talk Interviews” in English with the visiting university students. Our students eagerly embraced this valuable opportunity to use English in real communication, engaging actively and confidently.
Following the classroom observation, a school tour was held.Guided by our second- and third-year high school students, each visitor was paired with one or two Miwada students who led the tour in English.They visited key locations including the auditorium, student lounge, English Lounge, indoor heated pool, and our traditional Japanese tea house Kyoshintei. Those who were interested also had the opportunity to observe a Japanese ink painting class with second-year junior high students, and a martial arts class with third-year junior high students.
During the lunch break, the guests observed students having lunch in a first-year junior high classroom. Afterward, they also had the opportunity to observe our third-year high school students participating in the daily school cleaning routine.Since student-led cleaning is not a common part of school culture in the U.S., this aspect of Japanese school life was unfamiliar and quite interesting to many of our guests.
Although the visit was brief, it was a meaningful time filled with warm, cross-cultural exchange.
We were delighted to hear that the visitors from the University of Wisconsin enjoyed their tour of Miwada Gakuen, and we sincerely hope this connection will continue into the future.
